Riva degli Schiavoni is the quay along the waterfront of St. Mark’s Basin. It was named after the merchants of Dalmatia (Schiavonia) which moored here. Riva degli Schiavoni begins on the Piazza San Marco to Giardini and is a very popular hiking trail in Venice.
Public water buses 1, 2, 41 and 42 sail between ‘Piazzale Roma’, ‘Santa Lucia train station’ to ‘Zaccaria’ at Riva degli Schiavoni.
